More Sun and Great Racing

Sorry for the delay but house internet problems and a trip into town have delayed the posting of this post. The Woman’s Pursuit race for those that don’t understand goes as follows; The event combines both a classic technique leg followed by a free technique leg. Similar to the mass start event, competitors begin simultaneously, lined up in an arrow format with the best-ranked skiers at the arrow’s point. At the race’s halfway mark, athletes enter the stadium and change skis and poles as quickly as possible. The women ski a 7.5-kilometre classic course, followed by 7.5 kilometres of free technique. Short loops ensure the competitors pass through the stadium every six to eight minutes. The first athlete to cross the finish line wins.

Today’s race was super exciting and gave me the opportunity to mix it up a bit with the paying customers I had the opportunity to go between the press area near the finish and the Spectator Pit you see across from the stands. I hope you enjoy the shots
